The Dinner Roll

A Family Conversation Game That's Baked Fresh Each Week!

Each roll is hot out of the oven and ties directly to what kids are learning with Mayfield Road Kids. Whether you’re baking the bread or just passing the butter - The Dinner Roll helps families connect with each other and live God's Story - one bite-sized conversation at a time.

And this roll never goes stale, so you can leave it on the table to keep your dinner conversations hot and fresh all school-year long.

How to Play:

  • Download and print The Dinner Roll HERE. Printed copies are available in the Preschool Suite.
  • Take turns rolling The Dinner Roll (First one to the table gets the first roll!)
  • Match your roll to the number below and turn dinner into something better than a food fight! So gather ‘round the table and pass the rolls!
  • Play “High-Five or Thumbs-Down” — each person says one thing worth a high-five and one thing they’d give a thumbs-down. The person who rolled goes first.

  •

What is one thing you could do this week to remind yourself that God is with you? (e.g., write GOD on a slip of paper and carry it with you in your pocket)

  • Remember: God made everything. If you could design a new animal, what would it look like?

  • Pick someone at the table and challenge them to a memory test! Read the verse below but leave out a word or two. See if they can correctly fill in the blank. Then have them do the same challenge to you!

I will praise You because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wondrous,

and I know this very well. Psalm 139:14

  • The person who rolled must eat dinner without utensils for five minutes!
