Mayfield Road Kids

The Church is God's family...and that includes kids!

Mayfield Road Kids is part of our age-graded strategy in reaching, building, and empowering the next generation with the good news of God's rescue through His Son, Jesus. Our team of committed and trained leaders strives to provide a safe, loving, and engaging environment for kids from birth to 6th grade. Through our weekly activities and special events, we seek to partner with families to help children develop a faith in Jesus Christ that lasts a lifetime.

SHARING JESUS...ON THEIR LEVEL

  • Are you expecting a new addition to your family? Do you know someone who is?  Blessed Expectations is a ministry for those who are expecting a baby, planning for adoption, or foster parenting. Whether this is your first or your third child, we want to faithfully empower your family and remind you that at Mayfield Road, we live God's Story together! Please email Phillip Vincent for more information.

  • Our preschool environments reinforce Big Truths through creative storytelling and active play:

    • God made everything.
    • God is in charge of everything.
    • God is good.
    • Jesus came to save sinners.
    • God wants to talk with us.
    • The Bible is God's true Word.
    • The Church is God's family.
  •

Our children's environments teach the nature and character of God through engaging study of God's Word. Emphasis is placed on the attributes of God and our place in God's rescue Story today.

Through a three-year curriculum cycle, elementary kids develop a Big Picture of God's rescue through His Son, Jesus, of His Word, the Bible, and of their part in living the Story today. Elementary kids are also encouraged to engage in the life of the church, including weekly worship gatherings.

  • We understand that it can be stressful to drop your child off in an unfamiliar place. Our Mayfield Road Kids team would like to recommend the following talking points to set your child up for a successful experience when you visit:

    • Explain where your family is going. Consider browsing the pictures on our website to build familiarity or schedule a time to meet with our team and tour our environments.
    • Talk to your child about what he/she will be doing. For details on that, please refer to the sections above.
    • Assure your child that you won’t be far away. Take a few moments to share that you will also be learning about God in Life Groups, Worship, or Midweek classes. If attending worship, encourage your elementary age child to engage in the worship service with you and to complete a kids' sermon notes page.
    • Comfort your child by letting him/her know that church is a safe and fun place to be.
    • Reassure your child that you will return to get him/her just as soon as the service or class is over.
    • On the way home from church, ask your child to name at least one thing they enjoyed about their experience with Mayfield Road Kids. Continue the conversation of the week's Bible story through our Kids Weekly guide available HERE
    • In that same conversation, share one thing YOU learned at church this week. This helps reinforce the idea that church is important for the whole family.
    • Encourage excitement for returning next week!

If you’d like to let us know about your family’s visit ahead of time, you can click HERE.

    • Guests are encouraged to check in at the Welcome Desk located in the Preschool Suite. To reach this area, please turn left after entering through the doors located in the Welcome Center on the South side of our campus.
    • If you’re a first time guest, you’ll want to budget a little extra time (8-10 minutes) for your check-in process. All subsequent visits should move more quickly.
    • Mayfield Road Kids uses a web-based program to create a profile for your child. This profile gathers important information, including allergy alerts, medical conditions, and phone numbers in case we need to contact you during the session.
    • Please notify our team of any allergies, learning accommodations, medical diagnosis, or any other special need your child may have so that our team can ensure your child feels safe, comfortable, and is able to learn about Jesus on his or her own level.
    • All families should receive 2 stickers when check-in is completed. Sticker #1 is a name tag for your child that includes an alphanumeric code. Sticker #2 is a pick-up tag for parents printed with the same alphanumeric code that’s on your child’s name tag. You must present this tag in order to pick up your child. If you lose the sticker, a new one can be printed for you at the Preschool Welcome Desk.
    • If your child needs you, a Mayfield Road Kids team member will contact you through the contact information provided at Check In.
  • We're passionate about reaching, building, and empowering the next generation with the truth of the Gospel. We consider it a privilege to share Big Truths and point to the Big Picture of God's Story with your child in each lesson.

    • Our curriculum resources are a dynamic facet of our ministry. We use Bible Studies for Life by Lifeway alongside curriculum designed specifically for our environments by our ministry staff and leaders.
    • The Bible is God's true Word. It is from God and it is about God. God's Big Story details His redemptive plan for humanity; a plan that culminates in the life, death, and resurrection of God’s son, Jesus Christ. This is the heart of the Gospel.
    • Our teaching follows a three-year study plan with Gospel-centered lessons which focus on sharing Jesus with kids on their level. Each lesson provides ways to help kids find their place in God’s Story today.
  • All leaders serving with Mayfield Road Kids complete a thorough background check, screening, and application process as well as receive ongoing training in order to ensure your child has the best experience while engaged in our ministry environments. These trainings help ensure Mayfield Road Kids is a safe and secure environment that is conducive to learning more about Jesus in an engaging way. For more information on our leader expectations, please email Phillip Vincent, Family Pastor, HERE.

In addition to our adult leaders, select preteens serve on our Mayfield Road Kids Lead Team as our KidCrew. KidCrew provides preteens the opportunity to put their faith in action and to discover how they can use their gifts, talents, and passions for God’s glory.
